Dr. Sonya Sneed is the proud daughter of the late Mr. Russel and Mrs. Allie Mae Sneed. She gives praise and honor to her parents that instilled in her the importance of being humble, having faith in yourself, serving and giving back to your community and never give up on your dreams and passions in life. Dr. Sneed is a strong believer that change requires that a person take a look at themselves inside and out. And take the necessary steps and approaches to build a better you, family, team and make your dreams apart of your reality.
She loves being a mother to her magnificent children, spending time with her wonderful family, volunteering, reading and mentoring future leaders. She’s proud of her research accomplishments in Schizophrenic Behavior patterns that earned her a Ph.D. in Philosophy/Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has two Master degrees from Prairie View A & M in Human Sciences and
Counseling. And her undergraduate degree is in Healthcare Administration from Texas Southern University. Dr. Sneed built her distinguished 25 plus year career in management, education and healthcare management with the following; SL Solutions, Lone Star College, Houston Community College, San Jacinto College, Fort Bend ISD and Alief ISD, MHMRA, Texana Center, West Houston Medical Center and Del Oro Hospital. During her career, she has received many professional awards and achievements. Including an Honorary Life Membership from the National Society of Leadership and Success for her outstanding work with students. Dr. Sneed has been recognized for her Excellence in Teaching from Houston Community College in 2018. Beauty Beyond Breast Cancer organization recognized her in 2018 for being a Distinguished Leader in the Houston Metropolitan area for her work and contributions to Breast Cancer Awareness. Dr. Sneed actively serves on several executive boards in Houston, Texas. And enjoy utilizing her skills in healthcare management, behavioral health, human sciences/counseling research, and project management to help build leaders.
